Battlefields of the Napoleonic Wars – Sold Out!

This Monday, the last four copies of the first edition of Battlefields of the Napoleonic Wars were sold. As you know, not many were printed (499!), but it has still been an unexpectedly successful adventure, thanks to the welcome and support of players from all over the world.

Late October Updates

Some updates:

Battlefields of the Napoleonic Wars is selling out! Well, not quite, but there are less than 80 boxes left. I will reprint it, but I’m in no rush. I thought I would have to think about it in the spring.

Battle of Saalfeld

In October 1806, during the War of the Fourth Coalition, Prussian forces under Prince Louis Ferdinand advanced into Thuringia to confront Napoleon’s troops. The Prussian-Saxon contingent, numbering around 8,300 men, aimed to halt the French advance and protect the region.

Battle of Aspern – Essling

In 1809, after capturing Vienna during the War of the Fifth Coalition, Napoleon sought to cross the Danube and force the Austrian army into a decisive engagement. Using pontoon bridges from Lobau island, the French established a bridgehead near the villages of Aspern and Essling.

Pick Up at Essen Spiel!

Ingenioso Hidalgo will not have a booth at Essen Spiel, but thanks to the good relationship we have built up over the years, you will be able to pick up your copies – of Battlefields of the Napoleonic Wars and/or the first Battlefields expansion pack – at the fair, at the Nuts! booth (3U210).

Updates! A great review, too many orders and a supply error

So many things happened (great things, but with a slightly silly conclusion) so quickly that in the end I was forced to summarise them in a single post!

Announcing the first Battlefields pack

We had anticipated that Battlefields of the Napoleonic Wars was created with the idea of being a system, ready to accommodate new maps and battles… and here we are, less than six months after its release, announcing the first new additions!

Shipments to the United States suspended from 22 August 2025

Back from holiday with a bump, with the first windmills to face for Ingenioso Hidalgo!

As you all know by now, from 29 August, all imports from the European Union to the United States will be subject to a 15% customs duty, which will also affect goods worth less than $800 (previously exempt from duties). Not only that, but it seems (I say ‘seems’ because we are living in a period of great confusion) that for an initial period, these duties may be applied as flat rates of $80 or above, rather than calculated on the actual value of the goods.

Faq and Errata available

Thanks to the questions and comments received in these first few months, I have created a page of Frequently Asked Questions and Errata for Battlefields of the Napoleonic Wars.

Teach and Play available!

Yesterday, I had the honour of participating in SDHistCon Second Front with a Teach and Play session of Battlefields of the Napoleonic Wars. The event was hosted by the excellent Homo Ludens channel.
