Shipments to the United States suspended from 22 August 2025

Back from holiday with a bump, with the first windmills to face for Ingenioso Hidalgo!

As you all know by now, from 29 August, all imports from the European Union to the United States will be subject to a 15% customs duty, which will also affect goods worth less than $800 (previously exempt from duties). Not only that, but it seems (I say ‘seems’ because we are living in a period of great confusion) that for an initial period, these duties may be applied as flat rates of $80 or above, rather than calculated on the actual value of the goods.

This naturally makes it pointless for US players to purchase anything from the Ingenioso Hidalgo website (whose games are produced in Italy).

For this reason – and to avoid disputes that I would not be able to handle – from 22 August I will suspend sales to the United States until the situation becomes clearer and more manageable (unless you feel able to pay a crazy surcharge for the purchase of a game: in which case, please contact me privately).

Games ordered up to 20 August (this Wednesday) should arrive in the US in time before the tariffs are applied.

If the period of tariff confusion drags on, I will try to bring forward the release of a Print and Play version of Battlefields of the Napoleonic Wars on the Ingenioso Hidalgo website.
