And now for something completely new.
“Association Football for lonely gentlemen” (though it’s perfectly fine for gentlewomen too!) a game I started working on almost seven years ago, during the pandemic. This doesn’t mean I’ve been working on it for seven years, but rather that it’s a project I’ve never set aside and have always hoped would see the light of day sooner or later.
Now that I have a publishing label that lets me do what I want, its time has finally come.

What’s it all about? It’s a football solitaire game, in which you take on the role of manager of a fictional British football club from the early 1900s, and aim to take them from the third division to winning the top flight and the national cup. All within four seasons, which can be played comfortably in a single gaming session (each season lasts half an hour).
Unlike other football management games, in ‘Association Football for Lonely Gentlemen’ the focus isn’t so much on managing the team’s finances or assets (this aspect is there but stripped down to the bare essentials), but rather on playing the individual matches, using a very simple and engaging dice-rolling and management system that lets you play each match in under a minute… …yet still manages to tell a story of what has happened.
That’s all for now. You can find some other info and a list of the components on the game page. Over the next few days, I plan to publish some more content about the game, which will be available from mid-November at a price of 25 euros.
